Pompeii in Italy
I have been fascinated with Pompeii since I was 12 years old. It is an amazing place. There is a whole town here and the streets have special cobble stones to walk across so your feet don't get dirty in the dirty water that would have been on the streets at times back then. There are places where people bought their bread, an open air place for people to meet, a huge house with many rooms and a courtyard garden, and a temple. Some of the original decorations and colours are still on the walls. All this was in 79 A.D. It was completely covered up by pumice stones and ash, in less than 24 hours. We saw some of the casts of people and a dog that had been killed from the Mount Vesuvius eruption. It was rediscovered in the 15th century but they didn't start exploring it until 1748.
Here is a photo of Kiwi Bear at Apollo's Temple in Pompeii.

In Vienna
Here are a couple of photos of Kiwi Bear in front of a Mozart statue. He liked being on the instruments.
After that, there was a storm in Vienna with lightning, thunder and rain but we managed to go to a concert at a house where Mozart, a great composer, had lived for a couple of months. He had played his music at this place. Here are a couple of photos of us in this special place. One is when the concert is about to start. Kiwi Bear and I are looking forward to the concert. The next one shows we have really enjoyed the concert.

Further travelling with Kiwi Bear and Me
Great! I have access to email again so can continue the blog.
Kiwi Bear and I went down into some caves at Slovenia called the Postojna Caves. We travelled on an underground train and it was exciting. We travelled 3 kilometres on the train then we walked for several kilometres after that. He is a photo of us in the caves.

Kiwi Bear in Slovenia
Slovenia is a beautiful country with high mountains, clear rivers and lakes, and little chalet houses with bright coloured flowers in the window boxes.
We are staying in Ljubljana and have walked along the cobble stoned streets, been in a boat along the river, and today Kiwi Bear and I went to another place to see a castle, and a beautiful lake called Lake Bled. We were rowed out to an island with a very old cathedral on the top. People get married there, and the bride groom carries the bride up the 100 steps to get to the church.
Here are some photos showing some of the lovely countryside as well as some with Kiwi Bear.
Kiwi Bear is busy with his travelling
Kiwi Bear went to the Cardiff Castle. It was a huge castle and had parts in the castle wall that were built by the Romans. Cardiff Castle is another castle in Wales.
Kiwi Bear then went to a place called Bath, which is in England. A very long time ago the Romans created some special public baths where there was a hot spring in the ground and the water was lovely and hot to swim in.
People were dressed up like the olden day Romans at these Roman Baths, and you could get your photo taken with them. Kiwi Bear and I had our photo taken at these special, ancient baths.
Here is a picture of a wealthy Roman woman with her hair done in the fashion of the Roman times. She had lots of make up on which showed that she was wealthy. The make up had been put on her by a young servant girl. Kiwi Bear and I got our photo taken with her.
After being in Bath, Kiwi Bear travelled with me to a place called Stonehenge where there are some huge rocks in the ground. People are not sure how they got there, or why they were placed like they were, but it is an amazing place to go. These rocks have been here for hundreds of years. Kiwi Bear was excited to be able to have a photo here.

Kiwi Bear in Wales
Kiwi Bear is now at Caerphilly Castle which is over 700 years old. It is the second biggest castle in Great Britain and is lots of fun climbing up all the different towers. Kiwi Bear wasn't even scared of being up so high!
Kiwi Bear is enjoying being part of this Year 2 and 3 class at Cwrt Rawlin School in Wales. The children are very friendly and well mannered so Kiwi Bear is happy. The children are all waving to you.

In London with Kiwi Bear
Kiwi Bear is in London, and standing near Big Ben.
Kiwi Bear is outside the Tower of London, where lots of people were kept as prisoners.
Kiwi Bear and I are with a Yeoman. He is one of the guards at the Tower of London.
Kiwi Bear is enjoying his ride on the London Eye, and he is now higher than Big Ben in the background.
Kiwi Bear is at Buckingham Palace, and one of the Queen’s guards, called a Beefeater, is standing by his sentry box. Kiwi Bear thinks he is a good guard too, even though he is still cuddling his little kiwi toy!
